Ventbuster Instruments Updates
Improve surface casing vent flow (SCVF) repair with Ventbuster®, the only built-for-purpose technology offering real-time monitoring and accurate vent gas measurement. Its patented design provides unmatched precision, helping operators establish emission baselines, ensure effective interventions, and validate well integrity repairs with proof for regulatory clearance.
Stay compliant and safe with Hazardous Area Certified emissions monitoring equipment. Learn how non-certified devices can pose serious risks, and discover how the Ventbuster® ensures safety in explosive gas environments.
The Ventbuster® is built-for-purpose and is the most technologically advanced precision emissions metering device for Casing Vent Flow (CVF) testing and evaluation.
Understand the crucial disparities between venting and fugitive emissions in the realm of natural gas. Learn how to accurately quantify and monitor fugitive emissions through Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) systems, while discovering the cutting-edge Ventbuster® technology for precise point-source emissions testing.
In accordance with the requirements, all well owners must document a fracture control and wellbore integrity plan for each at-risk offset well.
All equipment utilized for on-site detection, monitoring, and measurement of atmospheric methane (CH4) emissions testing is required to be hazardous area certified and deemed as being intrinsically safe or explosion-proof.
Ventbuster Instruments has been approached by clientele to provide a recommended procedure for SCVF testing. We elected to adopt the protocol of the AER Directives 20 and 87 and offer this only as a guideline to operate the Ventbuster® for SCVF point-source testing, monitoring, quantification and reporting.
Prospective clients recognize that our Ventbuster® and Ventsentinel® technology provides the industry with the best-in-class gas measurement device to measure the once immeasurable, ultra-low pressured CH4 and CO2 emissions from MSW landfills.
Conventional gas metering technology cannot accurately detect, continuously measure, and digitally record such diffusing CH4 rates for this application. As these vents are similar to surface casing vents on oil and gas wells, it was only logical that the Ventbuster® be deployed.
We worked with industry and technological third-party validation organizations in a two-year field pilot project to finalize our commercial design of the Ventsentinel® to perfect its key performance indicators (KPIs).
The client installed a polyliner inside the existing steel lines to prevent corrosion and failure from the acid gases being pumped to each wellhead. The client needed to regularly monitor, measure, and report any evidence of CO2 leakage from the liner to safeguard the gathering system. The Ventbuster® was the tool they needed.
With technology now able to “measure the once immeasurable,” the energy industry can identify unintended negative environmental impacts by avoiding mitigation of negligible emissions such as chasing bubbles and a false-positive SCVF.
Data plays a pivotal role in addressing environmental concerns in today’s energy sector. The Ventbuster® offers real-time, point-source emissions monitoring, providing companies with accurate and continuous measurements of venting emissions while effectively quantifying methane emissions.
Ventbuster Instruments has gained a comprehensive understanding of emission characteristics through extensive testing on surface casing vents, leaking wells, and various hydrocarbon vents in Western Canada and the United States. This knowledge is crucial as the energy industry strives to achieve “net-zero” emissions by 2050. With their technology, the Ventbuster® provides continuous and unrestricted point-source emissions quantification, impactful progress can be made towards this goal.
The Ventbuster® is a ground-breaking technological advancement in point-source emissions testing and monitoring. Read the full white paper here.
Ventbuster Instruments (VBI) and the Well Done Foundation (WDF) today jointly announced they have entered into a strategic partnership in the United States to provide orphan and abandoned oil and gas well methane monitoring and measurement services.
The same technological gap that led us to create the Ventbuster®, has propelled us to discover other applications for our patent flow channel technology. Working with Alberta Innovates and Husky, we adapted our patented vent flow technology for application on CHOPS wells.
The Ventbuster® made its commercial debut at the beginning of 2020 and, in its two years of operation, has seen growing adoption and interest from the Canadian and US markets. What is it that makes this technology so unique? The Ventbuster® was built for a specific purpose, to fill the technology gap on accurate, continuous, and precise vent gas measurement.
We kicked off 2022 with a new promotional video. We are proud to celebrate our technology and its capabilities, and its role in helping to mitigate emissions and advance energy in our evolving world.
Early this year, we published a report highlighting The Ventbuster®’s accuracy in ultra-low flow detection. Specifically that its precision measurements have brought to light new understandings around thermogenic gas effects on shut in-pressures.
Please review the following information and install a software update to both the Ventbuster® Tablet and Ventbuster® Comms Unit. Version 0.3.16 of the android application is now available for download from the Google Play Store. The update is private – the update can only be accessed through Ventbuster Tablets.
Solar charging batteries have a higher level of charging complexity. Because of the solar charge controller and nature of the deep cycle battery, there are fundamentally three (3) stages of charging that should be understood to maintain and preserve battery life in the field.
An analysis of recent Ventbuster® tests highlighted a recurring issue, particularly at the beginning and end of tests. To help our clients achieve good quality, accurate tests and presentations, we wanted to pass along the following tips.
After reviewing some recent Ventbuster® tests we noticed that in these cold and darker days of winter, there can be more challenges maintaining battery power. To help sustain optimal battery life with the Ventbuster® power on-site, we wanted to pass along the following information.
